KANZI means treasure in Swahili, which is the most commonly spoken language amongst Black people in the world. KANZI Fest is an initiative of Kemetyu Global Economic Development Corporation (KGEDC), a 501c(3) organization dedicated to uplifting African descendant people and the introduction of the very diverse culture to all people worldwide.
Held at Southdown Park and other venues in Pearland, Texas, May 18-20, 2018, KANZI Fest expects 1,000+ attendees. Live music from the African Diaspora will be featured. The Diaspora includes but is not limited to the Caribbean, Latin America, and the United States.
The performances will take the festival goer through a historical trek of African music from the continent throughout the Diaspora. Also featured will be entrepreneurs from Africa and the Diaspora vending merchandise that is made, designed, and/or developed by people of African descent.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy watching the concert live from the VIP Lounge, mingle at the HBCU Lounge, or watch their children enjoy the many activities of the Children's Village: Wakandaland.
At Casa Palmas Apartments in Pasadena, Texas, it is clear that we have it all, but we still feel obliged to inform you of all the events our community has scheduled. Please feel free to join in all of the fun at this event!
