Pasadena: A City That Will Exceed Your Expectations
Pasadena, Texas is located within the beautiful Houston Metropolitan Area. It is the seventeenth most populous city in the state as well as the second largest city in Harris County. The city has several renowned museums including the Pasadena Historical Museum, the Bay Area Museum, and the Armand Bayou Nature Center. Pasadena also has a thriving community theater, an annual rodeo, and is home to the Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra, which is composed of music educators, musicians, college students, and selected high school students. And did you know Pasadena was the Strawberry Capital of the world? After Clara Barton of the American Red Cross purchased 1.5 million strawberry plants to aid flood victims, the crops began to flourish in the city throughout the 1930s. To honor that history, the city still holds an annual Pasadena Strawberry Festival. For outdoor enthusiasts, the city operates 15 tennis courts, several baseball fields, and 43 neighborhood parks. These incredible spaces include over 14 miles of nature trails, four youth recreational centers, three pools, a dog park, a golf course, and a senior citizen center.
